Williamston, SC. Bobby Gene Barnett, 58, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. Born in Canton, NC, he was the son of the late Clinton and Faye Scroggs Barnett. After graduating from Western Carolina University, he moved to Greenville, SC to pursue his career and his hobbies. Gene was a respected businessman and was loved among friends. He was the owner of the Pro-Tees and B.B. Enterprises, former vice president of the International Show Car Association, former president of the Palmetto Street Rod Assoc. and former president of the Asphalt Gladiators. Although he lived for his work, his granddaughters became the love of his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Brigitte Quick and husband, Bobby, of Lyman; three granddaughters, Hannah, Alexandria, and America Quick; sister, Darleen Kuykendall of Canton, niece, Chrystal Phillips and her husband Earl, and nephew, John David Sisk.
The funeral services will be held at 3 pm Wednesday at Scroggs Cemetery in Brasstown, NC.
