A Beloved Lady

Canton. It is with great sorrow that our families announce the passing of a beutiful soul, Linda Sue Mason. She passed away in her home on February 21, 2023.

Linda was born in Canton, NC on June 1, 1943 to parents Robert and Mollie Henderson. She spent her childhood in Canton with her siblings Calvin, Carroll, Edward, Buddy Jo, Mary, Glenda, and Roy. Linda went on to graduate from Canton High Shool and marry the love of her life, Charles Mason, also from Canton, in 1962.

Linda was a presence. She was a caring and outspoken woman who always enjoyed a good story and laugh. Her contributions to the lives of many include her work with the Meals on Wheels program and helping look after her grandchildren. Linda was a great cook and enjoyed gardening and birdwatching from her front porch.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Mason. Linda lived a fulfilled life surrounded by family. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Dickmeyer and Kellie Littlejohn (husband Derek Littlejohn), four grandchildren, Miranda Gillett,Lauren Mease, Aaron Gillett (wife Courtney Gillettt and daughter Josie) and Carson Mease; along with several grandchildren, Riley May, Kadin Logan, Dakari Logan and Nakaiya Logan; Sister Mary Blalock; and several other family members.

Services will be held at Crawford/Ray Funeral Home in Canton, NC on Saturday, February25, 2023, at 11:00AM. Following burial at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens, friends and family are invited to gather for fellowship at the Mason home located at 21 Gradys Lane, Canton.

In lieu of flowers, Linda has asked that donations be made to the Meals on Wheels Program, 157 Paragon Parkway, Clyde, NC 28721.
